Hi. You have reached The Savvy Paddler Home Page. Sorry, we cannot come

| Here's a link
to a totally disorganized paddling page of miscellaneous pictures and items
of interest to boaters. Also, a link to some pictures of a waterfall at Lake Jocassee that's one of my
favorites. Here are some pics from a GORP
trip to Jocassee.
In 2002, we spent some time above the Arctic Circle paddling the Lofoten Islands in Norway. Here is a small selection of the pictures we took. Recently we attended the East coast Canoe and Kayak Festival in Charleston, SC. My literate sister-in-law wrote about the event here. If you are interested in paddling white water canoe or kayak, check out the Georgia Canoeing Association. I will be teaching whitewater kayak and/or canoe in June and August. |

| If you find yourself in coastal South Carolina near Charleston, my friends at Coastal Expeditions can provide you with touring kayak instruction, guide services, and pre-packaged or custom tours. Their guides are top-notch, and most of them are both certified instructors and trained naturalists. If you just want to explore a protected barrier island without paddling, they also run the Bull Island Ferry out to the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. Be sure to tell Chris I sent you by. | ![]() |
| Or, if you're near Savannah, Sea Kayak Georgia on Tybee Island would be the folks to talk to. Marsha and her staff do instruction, tours, and retail. Their stock of high-end touring boats is one of the best in the Southeast. |

| Looking for a boat that's really a step above ordinary? Check out Allen Sinqfield's cedar strip baidarkas and canoes at Sinquefield Custom Boatworks. Remember, not everybody gets to paddle a stripper. |
| Last but not least, I've posted some pictures of the family for your (and their) enjoyment. |
